ENJOY

Bring your food to life with the spicy aromas and blackcurrant and cherry flavours of Pepperbox Shiraz. The wine's sublime intensity is hard to resist, especially if you are slow cooking, searing or grilling.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

The growing season was generally drier than usual with a particularly hot December which contributed to slightly reduced yields, but with some helpful cooling as the monsoons arrive in January the fruit ripened nicely. Cooler nights into April helped to give a successful harvest.

NOSE/AROMA

Concentrated ripe blackcurrant and cherry fruits, with black pepper and light cinnamon spice, complemented by chocolate and mocha notes.

VEGAN / VEGETARIAN

Vegetarian Friendly but not Vegan Friendly

WINEMAKING

Specific parcels of fruit were selected across a variety of regions in South East Australia, including quality fruit from the warmer parts of South Australia including McLaren Value (34%) and Currency Creek (18%) with a sprinkle of Claire Valley. This resulted in a very drinkable wine offering ripe fruits and soft tannins. The fermentation of the fruit was across a span of 5-7 days at mild to warmer temperatures. Wines then spent up to 9 months in contact with a mixture of new and second-year oak prior to bottling.

PALATE

A rich and intense palate of dark fruits, complemented by velvety tannins, delivering a balanced finish.

PEAK DRINKING
